According to the data of the World Health Organization, 3.5 billion people faced oral and dental health problems in 2020 alone. As the prevalence of dental diseases increases every year, the need for dental implants is also increasing.

Dental implants are safer, more effective, and more durable compared to other treatment methods. Although the design of dental implants and surgical procedures have been improved today, the risk of implantation failure is still quite high due to insufficient osseointegration and peri-implant diseases. In recent years, the success of Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) technology in modifying implant surfaces, increasing osseointegration, and preventing the formation of peri-implantitis has shown promising results. The aim of this project is to develop a vacuum plasma device that will enable dentists to modify implant surfaces in a short time during implantation in order to improve the quality of life of individuals struggling with oral and dental diseases.
