A Wearable IoT-Based Cold Atmospheric Plasma System for Use in the Treatment of Acute and Chronic Wounds.

Non-healing wounds resulting from a disease or trauma are among the most frequently encountered health problems. Especially the increase in individuals requiring inpatient treatment due to diabetes-related or non-healing wounds complicates the treatment and care of these diseases and reduces the success rate of existing traditional treatments (chemical, vacuum, antibiotics, etc.).

Along with the increasing population, this causes clinical infrastructures to become insufficient and expenditures to increase. Today, in addition to the rise in hospital-acquired infections, the development of bacterial resistance due to the use of antibiotic drugs causes current methods to fail. The aim of this project is the design and production of a medical device prototype that can be used with disposable wearable DBD electrodes by making cold plasma technologywhich is used in many fields from cancer treatment to wound treatment in clinical settingssmart and portable for home care and treatment.
